DJ Limited - Ganja Time

Updated: Jul 13, 2018

DJ Limited is no stranger to the Serial Killaz imprint with a string of previous releases to his name. It’s no wonder that his latest release ‘Ganja Time’ feels so at home here as its chockablock with bubbling beats that are as versatile as the label itself.

Introduction vibes a run in the form of ‘Ganja Time’. A stripped back, relaxed intro quickly whips intro crushing basslines and chopped up breakbeats that really set a great tone for the EP.

Revisiting ‘Colour’ from 2017’s ‘Dubplate’ EP, Limited adds a great deal of toughness to the mix which will no doubt please fans of the original. Reworking but not overstating which is kind of the idea with VIP releases.

‘Sun’ is a real flip of the script and it’s certainly a track full of summertime vibes, glossy vocals and rolling beats. A diverse tune that will no doubt rank highly in both DJ crates and streamed airtime. Those that know their reggae will no doubt be familiar with the samples used to perfection in this one! It’s also worth noting that this release comes with an instrumental version.

Both ‘Sound’ and ‘I Know You Know About Me’ really ramp up the temperature whilst maintaining that certain vibe of the whole EP. Aimed strictly at the dancefloor, these bangers really are handcrafted goodness that would certainly be at home in any DJs crates.

‘The Way I Do’ wraps up the EP and really needs no introduction. This box of tricks is a can of worms waiting to bust out and that’s exactly what it does, and in a fine fashion too! No doubt this one has already been wrapping it’s moody bassline rumbles around your ears for a few months already as it’s been cained on dub by everyone that’s worth a mention.
